Matthews & Associates is pleased to announce that Sulaiman Ahmad has joined our team as an Associate Attorney.
Sulaiman is a civil litigator whose practice focuses on personal injury and civil rights matters. He has handled all phases of litigation, including motion practice, depositions, and mediations, and has first-chaired trial in South Carolina Circuit Court, where he secured a jury verdict and punitive damages under the South Carolina Unfair Trade Practices Act.
Beyond the courtroom, Sulaiman has a notable background in public advocacy. As an undergraduate at Furman University, he served as lead plaintiff in a successful lawsuit challenging voter registration practices that affected college students — litigation featured in The New York Times — and was later selected as one of only three South Carolinians to meet with the Vice President to discuss election integrity and barriers to voter access. He earned his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law and his B.A. from Furman University.
He is licensed in Texas and South Carolina, including in federal court and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and speaks Spanish, Urdu, and Hindi.
